Bounty of the Everfree

Some may think the Everfree is a useless eyesore, a blight upon Equestria, home of foul monsters and source of dangerous, untameable weather. No earth pony would ever bother trying to till such land. None but the most reckless of pegasi would care to spread their wings above it. Those few unicorns willing to brave its depths feel an uneasy tingling in their horns and disquiet in their very souls.

But a few wise individuals know the truth. The Everfree has a precious resource far in excess over all regions of Equestrian civilization: raw magic in its most potent form. For those bold enough to tend its crop, there is an unmatched bounty, free for the taking.

This started out as me just playing around with colours, masks and mesh transformations in Manga Studio. Just for funsies, mind, and no real object in mind. Then I added a solid "source" for the colours to emanate from and one thing led to another 'till eventually...
